Get the juicer out

Many people I know have a juicer, and yet it sits in a cupboard, or on the worktop - gathering dust.

When you use a juicer you can get serious health benefits as the vegetables are raw - most of the enzymes and vitamins are still intact when compared to cooking the vegetables (i.e. boiling).

The most common cause of this lack of use of a juicer that I hear is that it takes too long to clean the juicer, or that it takes too long to prepare the fruit and vegetables to go into the juicer.

Is it too long when you consider the potential benefits that it will give you in the long run?

If you find that you are in this category, and find the cleaning part a real chore then consider applying your brain to the problem.

For example - if you were in a position where you ran the hot water tap and filled a washing up bowl with hot water then as soon as you have juiced you could give the parts of your juicer a quick rinse to get the pulp out of all of the hard to clean areas and then properly wash the parts later on. This is especially true for the sieve part of the juicer.

I realise that it is really uninspiring to clean a juicer that has been left for a while, but giving it a quick clean before you drink your juice can make a world of difference.

Try it and see if you can get back into juicing.
