Cooking with healthy ingredients

I am sometimes asked how I manage to get healthy foods into my diet on a consistent basis and I often point them in the direction of 'The Optimum Nutrition Cookbook' see this link - http://www.awesomewheatgrass.com/site/1407167/page/882482 for more information.
 
In the early days when I decided that my diet was an important part of my life I did find it difficult to keep a consistent - high quality diet going. By finding out more ways to have a good diet than ways to slip into poor eating habits it does become easier.
 
A book like the one mentioned above does help.

Struggling with 5 a day

One of my colleagues was grumbling about how difficult it was to eat five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day.
 
They asked my how I did it and I simply replied 'start the day with fruit'. It's a pretty simple answer and for those of you who follow 'time management' principles you will realise the power in its simplicity.
 
If you are struggling with other health goals for example, it might well be a good opportunity to start the day with health promoting activities - such as performing exercise before going to work.
